Abstract

Mineral sufficiency of global economy is analyzed. The amount of top metallic mineral resources and diamonds occurring at mined and developed deposits is compared with the current and/or projected output at them. The paper shows that metal mineral bases can ensure the current or higher production level for the long term. Diamonds are an exception; their recovery will greatly decrease in the near term unless new, still unknown deposits are discovered and mined.
