Information for authors

Rules of reviewing and designing the papers submitted to the journal «Ores and Metals»

  1. The paper must suit the journal profile. Scientific papers submitted to the Editorial Board are subject to mandatory peer review. In case of paper rejection (negative review), the Editorial Board sends the authors the review or a reasoned refusal signed by the Editor-in-Chief; the Editorial Board does not enter into disputes with the authors of rejected papers; papers rejected by the Editorial Board are not reviewed again.
  2. The paper is prepared in accordance with the design requirements and submitted with the standard accompanying documents: a letter (permission for publication) from the company executive and an expert opinion on the potential publication in the open press. The paper is to be signed by all the authors.
  3. The paper is accompanied by information about the author(s) – full name, place of work, position, academic degree, academic title, phone number and e-mail.
  4. The journal does not publish papers presenting generalizations and assumptions that do not follow from the published original actual material; serial papers and those presenting individual research stages.
  5. The authors are not charged the payment for publication. The fee is not paid. By signing the paper and submitting it to the Editorial Board, the author thereby grants the Editorial Board the right to publish it in the journal and upload it on the website. Submitting papers published previously or scheduled for publication in other journals is not allowed.
  6. The maximum paper length is 20 pages, including tables and a list of references. Materials are sent by e-mail in MS Word format (.doc extension), Times New Roman font (font size is 12, line spacing is 1.5). All pages of the paper are numbered. The text, tables, and figures (signed by the author in Russian and English) are placed in separate files. The authors provide an abstract in English and keywords. In the text, foreign last names and geographical object names are given in Russian transcription.
  7. Tables should have names (in Russian and in English), they are typed without abbreviations (font size is 10, line spacing is 1.0). The maximum table size is 23×16 cm.
  8. For typing mathematical formulas and symbols, MS Equation 3.0 is recommended. Physical values and units of measurement should correspond to those accepted in the International System SI. All acronyms and abbreviations, with the exception of commonly used ones, are explained when first mentioned. Decimal symbols are denoted by a comma (0,47); digits are separated by a dash without spaces (5–10); quotation marks are « »
  9. The number of illustrations presented in a paper cannot be more than 5–7. The maximum size of the figures is 23×16 cm. Each figure is placed in a separate file in one of the following formats: JPG, BMP, and TIFF for photos; CDR for vector graphics; and MS Excel charts. Presenting the graphics in the vector form suitable for editing is preferable. Scanned figures and photocopies shall not be accepted. The graphics should be related to the text and facilitate its reduction. The numbers and letters in legends placed outside a figure are given in italics. The lines and inscriptions should not be less than 0.2 mm in thickness. All the figures are provided with the scale and orientation indications, the maps must also contain geographical coordinates. The figures captions are typed on a separate page after the list of references.
  10. The list of references is given at the end of the paper, with the sources numbered alphabetically. Foreign references follow the Russian ones. The references in the text are indicated by the corresponding ordinal numbers in square brackets. Unpublished papers shall not be included in the list; if necessary, they are referenced in the text, for example (A.A. Ivanov, B.B. Petrov, 2003).
  11. The text of a paper, prepared for publication, with corrections made by the editors, is sent to the authors for approval by e-mail in PDF format.
  12. The Editorial Board reserves the right to shorten and edit the paper title, text, and figures.
