Abstract

he paper reviews mineral base status of essentially copper deposits within the South and Middle Urals generally and for top copper mines, reserves distribution by geological and economic ore types, and their reproduction in 2005– 2017. Depletion of copper pyrite deposit mineral base is a key regional problem. Copper production in the Urals until 2035 is forecasted. Conclusions are made on mineral base stability, its development prospects, current risks and ope- rating mines’ mineral sufficiency.
