Professor of Economic Geology in the Pamukkale University Department of Geological Engineering, Denizli-Turkey. She completed her PhD (2001) on the Koru epithermal-gold deposit in the Biga Peninsula (NW Turkey). Her research has been related to the chemical composition of fluids in the crust, their source, composition and fluid-rock interactions. She has undertaken many studies of fluids in different geological settings, the majority of which were related to ore deposits. (published more than 70 papers by the first or corresponding author). Head of Ore Microscopy and Fluid Inclusion Laboratories at Pamukkale University. Recently her research has focussed more on aspects of mineralization in porphyry and epithermal systems to better understand fluids that transfer metals and conditions under which precipitation takes place. She was a organizer of 12th ECROFI (International Fluid Inclusions Conference) in Antalya 2013. She is a Fellow of the Society of Economic Geologist and member of Society for Geology Applied to Mineral Deposit, of which she is a councilor member since 2018. She is also member of the Ore Mineralogy Commission of International Mineralogical Association since 2022.
