Academician of RAS, DrSc, V.S. Sobolev Institute of Geology and Mineralogy, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Novosibirsk, Russia), Chief Researcher, honored geologist of the Russian Federation, discoverer of North America’s largest Snap Lake diamond deposit. Expert in petrology, mineralogy of upper mantle and kimberlite geochemistry, as well as development of diamond deposit forecasting and prospecting methods.
Author of over 300 papers including 4 monographs, holder of 4 copyright certificates. Member of “Ores and Metals” Editorial Board and a number of other scientific periodicals’ editorial boards.
Activities: since 1970, fundamental studies of the Earth structure and applied geology issues related to development of new methods for diamond deposit forecasting and prospecting. 2007-2017: Director of V.S. Sobolev Institute of Geology and Mineralogy.
